NAIDOC 2025

STRENGTH, VISION & LEGACY

GPCC embraced NAIDOC Week with a vibrant celebration of culture and heritage.

Special guests Urain Warraweena, Lacey Boney, and Bailee Nicholls led students through cultural talks, music, song, dance, and art activities. Secondary Aboriginal students participated in truth-telling sessions, crafted costumes from beads, feathers, and string, and applied Ochre from Brewarrina in ceremony.

Urain shared Dreamtime stories with Year 4, including the famous fish traps story from Brewarrina and the Rainbow Serpent. Year 7 explored themes of reconciliation, and connection to land through their study of Honey Spot.

It was an unforgettable week of learning, sharing, and connection. A huge thank you to our special guests for sharing with our community.
